considering some on the heisman watch list, should or will Juice Williams ever be considered?
A question from a reader: averaging 243 passing and 80 yards rushing a game with 15 td’s. I’m not saying he should or will win but just be considered and start making a case towards next year. I think both Williams and Benn can start making noise towards next year. What are your thoughts?

I am sure they will be considered, but lets be honest. The Heisman and other awards have become commercial outlets for the networks and for the colleges. The Heisman is supposed to be given to the best college football player that year. Lately it has gone to the most popular or best promoted player. Awards like the Butkas award already have their short list before the season starts. How does that allow for the best linebacker to be picked? It has become a sham.

The dude is a stud.. He might not be an NFL type prospect, but he has the college game skills. He has a very slim chance to go to New York this year. He shined in the opening loss to Mizzou, but he followed that game with weak performances against weaker opponents. If he improves his game, and learns not to make dumb mistakes, he has a real good shot next near. Especially if Illinois can put a good team on the field.

That would be great! Juice has been making good decisions lately. It was great going to the Big House and coming out with a win! I don’t think either one will be considered strongly this year. Hopefully, they’re around next year at the U of I.
