Do you think Matt Millen and the Detroit Lions deserve a superbowl ring and trophy this year?

A question from a reader: I sure hope so I mean Matt Millen dosen’t deserved to be blame it’s obviously the offensive line and sometimes the defense that needs to regroup and be blamed. I know a lot of people could care less about Millen but he really is a good general manager and I still think he’s got what it takes to win the big showdown. Yes the superbowl. I hope Calvin Johnson is healthy to play this week after him getting knocked out because they drafted him first round. Anyways I think the Lions and Millen and the coach deserve superbowl rings this year and I can see it happening just now.

Yeah right, Millen hasn’t done crap for that team and the team hasn’t shown much improvement the past few years. They don’t deserve any ring this season. Take off the beer goggles.

First off i cant believe you would even ask this question. The lions? Come on now, they suck. Just because they won 2 games doesnt mean anything. 2nd NO ONE deserves to win the super bowl. You earn that as a team and if you say your line sucks then why would they deserve it? I hope you are like 10.

Dude I live in MI and millen most definitely doesn’t deserve anything but a black eye for what hes done to the lions franchise. Granted they have never really been that good he sure in hell isn’t helping the cause with jokers he gets to coach play and manage the team. I would love to see the lions win a Superbowl in my lifetime but if I had to bet on the lions or the field for the next 50 years I would take the field hands down. Drafting a wide out the last 4 years is just absolutely ludicrous also.

Don’t they need to have a good season, make the playoffs, win the NFC Championship, then the Superbowl ? FIRST !

Not yet, The team and that involves everyone from the players to the coaching staff need some improvement. Kitna has turned out to be a better QB than most have given him credit for.
We need to build a line that would protect him better during the pass rush. We have the talent now and all we need to do is to have them work together as a team and win some games.
A Superbowl would be nice, yet it is too soon. Give these guy’s a few years and we may be seeing one.

MILLEN IS THE ONE WHO PUT THOSE AWFUL UNITS TOGETHER. He’s the worst GM in the league. Even worse than the idiots who let Al Davis do whatever he wants and the idiots who fire Marty Schottenheimer for going 14-2. And News flash here einstein: Philly’s not that good and they laid up 56 points on you. I wouldn’t expect a wildcard in the same division as Green Bay and the Chicago Bears (defense). You can’t win a superbowl without an O-Line and you certainly can’t win a superbowl without a defense. Denver, SD, and Dallas will eat Kitna alive and they probably won’t get past Arizona or NYGs either. You sound like a fan in denial.

Millen has not been a good GM. he has a terrible record in his regime and its his fault that they dont have a good line or defense he should be drafting and aquiring players to improve those areas of his team but instead he gets 4 receivers in the first round 2 of which were busts.
Matt Millen does NOT deserve a super bowl ring and more than likely wont get one but if he and the lions do then they better send one to Barry Sanders considering he is the only bright spot in the recent years of their franchise

Yes they DESERVE to win
but you look at this team, they gave up 56 points to the eagles, thats not a good sign for the offence, i mean you saw what happened in the second half, lions offence had to much pressure knowing that they had to score because their D couldnt stop the eagles, and you cant expect a team with only offence to carry you to the super bowl, even the greatest show on turf played some defence, thats why they won a super bowl and reached another.
So i expect detroit to upgrade their defence if not now than on the offseason, but they better not wait too long like KC did a few years ago, because if u look at them now, the majority of that offence is now gone, but Detroit still has time
