A question from a reader: With Peter Forsberg coming back in a couple of months what jersey do you think he will be wearing?
If I were to choose i would probably say the RedWings to play with his countrymen because Detroit is basically Team Sweden.
It would be nice to see Forsberg against the Avs in a Wings jersey.
Wings got 5 mil left in the cap room
If he wanted to play i still think he can be a dominant player.

most likely Avs because of the history he has wid the Avalance/Nordiques franchise. He was wid them since his rookie year and he played for them for almost a decade and has a house in Denver. If not, other possibility is Vancouver because it has Naslund and Sedin twins. Forsberg grew up wid those guys and has close bonds wid them. Remember there are about 20 teams interested in Forsberg rite now, so anything goes. I doubt FOrsberg will only be interested in the $$. He wants to go to a contender, so hopefully that also can include Sens, Wings, Ducks….

I highly doubt Forsberg would choose to go back to the Flyers. Yes thats right he does still have a choice of teams. Dispite being injury prone teams are willing to take the risk at signing him (for a lower price) because when he is healthy he always produces offense. Its a shame hes been plagued with ankle and concussion problems, he would have been on the top of the league for many years. I agree that he would probably like to go back to Colorado. But we can only speculate.

There is no doubt he is a fantastic hockey player and a great athlete, the question should be which team is willing to sign such a fragile player, seriously how old is he now? and how much down time has he had due to injury? honestly in my opinion they guy needs to retire before he gets seriously hurt….

he would fit in best with the wings or the stars — lots of swedes, good team systems, solid coaching, good enough goaltending to win a championship.
my guess is he signs with dallas. he’ll get lots of ice time and work closely with joel lundquist to help him emerge as a top center, which lundquist is capable of.

We already have a washed-up has-been in our net, we don’t need any more on the team, especially that walking IR spot.
Do you also think the Wings should look into getting Claude Lemieux to come out of retirement and skate for them too???

dam my cousin hasnt been online lately for me to get updates out of sweden but last i heard philly was his main interest.
only red he be wearing is from a bloody nose. if playing with sweds so important to him he can stay in the elite league aint no room on the wings for him. period. krupp was bad enough didnt they learn then former ave dont play in det, even more so when the player was part of the late 90’s. Sakics a nice guy and all but wouldnt even take him.

Pretty sure the top teams right now is the Flyers. Not only does Peter want to come back to Philly, the Flyers organization has publically said that they want Peter back.

and he doesn’t want to be a wing. sure, he has loyalty to Sweden, but not to the Swedish Wings players. he has more disloyalty to the wings, than loyalty to those Swedes who play for the wings.
