Weight Loss, Exercise and Pain
Does that sound familiar? You want to lose weight, you need to lose weight. You know that exercise will help you lose weight but the pain is too much for you, so, there you sit. The weight doesn’t come off, at least not enough, you’re discouraged, depressed, sittin at home, wishin, hopin, dreamin about someday, and that someday never comes.
Isn’t there something that I can do for the pain? Isn’t there a magic pill? Doesn’t somebody care enough about me to help me or push me or even drag me through this?
As we look around at articles about pain and weight loss, we see thousands have written about the need to exercise in order to lose weight and others writing about the need to exercise in order to reduce pain, sounds like Catch 22. They all seem to make sense and be true but what about me? THE PAIN IS TOO MUCH TO EXERCISE!! Therefore, here I am, the same and getting worse, not better.
Isn’t there a way to relieve the pain first so I can exercise? Well, you can take the meds, prescriptions or over the counter of course, but what about the side effects of those. Like your stomach and your liver and your kidneys? Several of the anti-inflammatory meds have been taken off the market because of the disastrous side effects to people. You can even try liniments, rubs, salves, on and on.
Several years ago a group of Doctors and Scientists set out to find a way to address this very problem. Alleviate the pain so people can exercise and therefore lose weight. This sounds like a logical approach doesn’t it? Of course it does. Well what did they find and were they successful?
They found that our bodies are amazing and if given the right nutrients you will have amazing results. Nutrition is the key. But I’m not a nutritionist you say. Neither am I, but I trust those that are and I am pain free today. At sixty years old, I have gone from forty ibuprofen every week to zero! My knees and back feel like they did when I was twenty!
