What do you think about the panthers releasing Keyshawn Johnson?

A question from a reader: I dont think it was a very good idea for the panthers to drop Keyshawn Johnson. He still has 1-2 more good years left in him. I dont think Dwayne Jarret will be able to put up the same type of numbers Keyshawn put up last season. Now, they have no primary reciever if something happens to Steve Smith.

Think of Nelson on the Simpsons HAA HAA. He is an ass

  2. Father time waits for no man, not even Keyshawn. When you get old, you die, then they forget you ever existed.

  3. other teams have to be looking at him. so it was stupid of carolina but someone like the browns where quinn could toss it up to him are in luck

  4. I don’t think it will have any effect on them. Keyshawn has been a marginal possession receiver for the last couple of years. Look at the bears they have a similar problem upcoming with Mohammad. I think there pick will do everything he did and might do more.

  5. I thought that was crazy. They should have kept him for a couple of more years.

  6. As soon as I saw that headline, I felt less confident about my Panther’s chances. I thought that Johnson’s pros outweigh his cons and that he would have helped wean Jarret into the starting role. Besides, a wide receiver corps consisting of Smith, Johnson, and Jarrett was beastly in my opinion. Now we only have Smith and Jarrett and I’m not totally confident in Jarrett. He’s a steal, yes, but I think he’d be better if he played with Keyshawn for a couple years. Still, the Panthers look good, and their draft covers this cut.

  7. Marty Hurney must know something that we don’t.

they will keep Keyshawn because Jarret and him are both powerful possession receivers and they want Keyshawn to teach Jarret

Was a big mistake and if they would of kept him they could have good starting wide receivers.
