What do you think will happen to Peter Forsberg?
A question from a reader: He is competing in the Karjala Cup this weekend and almost every team has a scout at this tournament. He says his ankle is better and that he wants to return to the NHL. A KHL team is rumored to have offered him millions of dollars. Knowing Foppa though, he would want to compete for the cup over anything.
The two places he would most likely want to play are Colorado and Philly. However, Sakic is retired and Philly has enormous cap issues.
Where do you think he will end up?

His mind says yes but his body (ankles) says no! I don’t see Philly being to interested…they have enough centers on the teams that they are converting them to wingers as it is so unless they ran into a rash of injuries down the middle then it makes no sense. Cap issues for a player like that are a mirage because he is taking another players roster spot, thus clearing that space and on top of that there is the bonus money that they could offer, bypassing current cap issues…….a moot point though because they would not have interest.
Therefore, Colorado makes the most sense……apparently his girlfriend is from there (still going to College there maybe?) and they are doing well this year and he has had success there and they have lots of cap space and they could use his veteran presence (with Sakic gone!) so I see Colorado as the ONLY option IF his ankles hold up.
The only other thing I could see happening is if Colorado wasn’t biting and he went to another young and up and coming team like LA or Phoenix.
No Ceilings (Canucks fan)
Well, I’ve heard time and time again that the Canucks are interested in him. Whether it is anything more than interest, I do not know. I would like it to be something more, but I doubt it. I’m pretty sure he will end up back in the NHL, but I don’t know what team it will be for.
